Getting Ready

We've spent the last few months getting things "ready" for little Allen's arrival. This last weekend Parker put together the stroller, and then we both made sure we knew how to properly use the car seat. (I couldn't find a doll so the stuffed bear had to substitute as the "baby".) We've tried to include Krug in all the baby preparations in hopes that he'd adjust well to the baby. He's certainly been very interested in all the new things going on and a willing "assistant" in all our preparations.

The only thing we've had trouble with so far, is that Krug thinks all the new toys are for him. He didn't understand why we'd take a perfectly good toy and strap it into a chair instead of letting him play with it.

I'm so glad dogs can't talk! With all that he has been witness to, I'm sure he'd be laughing and mocking me constantly for the many, many mistakes I've been making. Let's just say there have been plenty of "duh" moments these last few months. :) I've got a lot to learn and I'm sure I'll be calling many of you for mommy advice!

The Many Uses...

Pregnancy certainly has it's many inconveniences. In the last few weeks, however, I've discovered the many uses of the pregnant belly :) Krug was actually the first to recognize the handiness. He's often used it as a head rest/pillow when he sits with me (as pictured below). If I'm doing things around the house, he's also quick to come and use the belly as a stretching post. So glad I could be of assistance...

It's also been a great book rest as I'm reading or even a makeshift portable table as you can see here.

As helpful as the belly can be, I'm certainly looking forward to it's abscence. :)
